Allie Schnacky; TikTok Star Talks About ‘Divine’ Israel Docuseries to Reach Gen Z
Allie Schnacky, a TikTok star and one of the social media leaders at the centre of a new docuseries about Israel, says that her recent trip to the Holy Land was “divine intervention.”
Schnacky, who is 23 years old, recently told Faithwire on CBN that going to Israel had been her dream for a long time. But after many failed efforts to go there over the years, the trip didn’t happen until 2023. Now, she said, she can see that the Lord was in charge of how things happened.
Bishop Robert Stearns of Eagles’ Wings, an organisation that works for peace and stability in Jerusalem, went to the Schnackys’ church and put them in touch with SoulShop Studios CEO Dan Luxenberg. Luxenberg wanted to film a documentary called “Walking the Word” about Israel that was based on social media.
“I remember the first time I talked to Dan on the phone… Schnacky said, “There was nothing online that met the needs of our generation, so we started a lot of meetings just to talk about how to tell the world and, more specifically, our generation what was going on over there.”
“So when we got in touch with Dan and he thought of this series where we could go there and find new archaeological finds or be standing in the place where these Bible stories happened, it was the most amazing chance of my whole life, and I am so, so, so excited for this series to come out because it fills that need for the first time ever,” she said.
Both Luxenberg and the Schnackys made the docuseries because they wanted to take good care of the platforms they had built. For example, Schnacky has four million TikTok fans.
Luxenberg said that he hopes this new series about the Holy Land, which is all about social media stars, will reach a younger group in a way that traditional documentaries and interviews about Israel might not.
“I’m so happy for that one kid on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram who’s going to search something about Israel and not be so bored but instead be inspired, laugh, cry, stay immersed in the Schnacky world, and feel a deeper connection,” he said. “So when they open their Bible, it’s not this faraway land of Israel, but a place where you can literally go online and book a flight.”
Schnacky said that she and her family have made it a goal to reach people with the Gospel through their platforms.
“We don’t care about things that don’t matter in the long run,” she said. “When we die, we can’t take anything with us. The only thing we leave behind is the family God has given us. Those are the people we bring to heaven with us.” That’s the whole point.”
“We’ve also seen everything fall apart that we’ve built on our own,” Schnacky said. “I tried doing it on my own. I have tried to get things done on my own. You look at all of these stars around the world who try to do things on their own but can’t stand.
Jesus and God are the only things on which you can build things that will last, not just in this life but also in the life after this one. That’s what really drives us to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We need something that will make a difference.”
“Walking the Word,” a docuseries, will be released Sept. 6–10 on the Schnackys’ social media pages.
