After Winning Master’s Title Tennis Star Coco Gauff Thanks Jesus

Cori “Coco” Gauff, a young American tennis player who won the Master’s 1000 title at the Cincinnati Open on Sunday, praised Jesus on national TV.

The 19-year-old won by beating the 27-year-old Czech player Karolina Muchova 6-3, 6-4.

“I can’t believe it. Especially after what happened to me in Europe at the beginning of this summer. I’m just glad to be here right now. “I’d like to thank my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ,” she said as the crowd cheered. “I spent a lot of nights crying alone, trying to figure out what was going on. I still have a lot to figure out, but I appreciate his help.”

Gauff beat Muchova in a nearly two-hour match that took place in 90-degree heat to win her first Master’s title. It made me feel good to win.

“This is unbelievable,” Gauff said when the trophy was given out after the game. “I’m just glad to be in this place at this time.

She also said, “I want to congratulate Karolina on an amazing run in this tournament.” “I hope we’ll play more often and on a bigger stage than this.”

The girl from Florida is the first teenager to make it to the finals of the event since Vera Zvonareva in 2004. She is also the first teenager to win since Linda Tuero, who was 17 when she won in 1968.

“Wow. “Wow, what a week!” she wrote later on Instagram. “I won my biggest title to date two weeks ago, and you know that I had to double it.”

Because of her most recent win, she is now the sixth-best player in the world. She said that if her folks hadn’t helped her, she wouldn’t have been able to do it.

She said, “Thank you most of all to my parents.” “Mom, I love you so much for being there for me when I’m sad. My dad brought me into the world. I play tennis because of this. He makes me think I can do this.”

Coco became well-known all over the country when, at age 15, she became the youngest person ever to qualify for Wimbledon. When she beat Venus Williams in the first round, she shocked the tennis world.

Since then, she’s been slowly making her way to the top. Last year, she came in second place at the French Open.

Gauff says that even with all of her success, her faith in Christ and prayer keep her stable.

She told the New York Times in an interview that she and her dad pray before every game.

“Before every match since I was 8, my dad and I say a prayer together,” she said. “We don’t really pray to win; we just pray that my opponent and I stay safe.” After the game, all I could do was thank God for giving me this chance.”

Even when her job goes down, she knows that Jesus is her hope.
