Jimoh Ibrahim- Lawyer, Politician, Businessman and Activist
Jimoh Ibrahim is a lawyer, politician, businessman, and activist from Nigeria. He was born on February 24, 1967, and he is now the senator-elect for the Ondo South Senatorial District.
He is the chairman and CEO of Global Fleet Group, which is based in Nigeria and is a diverse conglomerate with business interests and subsidiaries in other West African countries. In July of 2022, the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom gave him an official Business Doctorate (BusD).
Background
Ibrahim comes from Ondo State, which is in the southwestern part of Nigeria. He got his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, where he studied law. After that, he went back to Obafemi Awolowo University and got an MPA, which stands for Master of Public Administration. Later, he went to Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and got a Master of Laws (LLM) and a Master’s in International Taxation. He has invested in oil and gas distribution, hotels, resorts, airlines, banks, real estate, insurance, publishing, and other businesses.

In 2003, Jimoh Ibrahim ran for governor of Ondo State on the ticket of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP). He did not win. Three books were written by him. He has four children with his wife, Mrs. Modupe Jimoh Ibrahim.[5] He is also the owner of the Nigerian newspaper National Mirror, which he runs.
Controversy
During 2013–2015, Sahara Reports put out a number of stories that made claims of serious wrongdoing.
On November 11, 2020, it was stated that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) had gotten a court order to freeze Jimoh Ibrahim’s bank accounts and take his assets because he owed NGN69.4 billion in debts that he hadn’t paid.
