Archbishop Benson Idahosa – Founder of The Church of God Mission International and Televangelist

Benson Andrew Idahosa, who died on March 12, 1998, was a charismatic Pentecostal speaker. He was born on September 11, 1938. The Church of God Mission International was started by him. People in Nigeria often said that Archbishop Benson Idahosa was the father of Pentecostalism.Benson Idahosa University (BIU) in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, was started by Idahosa. Bishop F.E.B. Idahosa, his only son, is now the president of BIU, the founder and president of Big Ben’s Children Hospital, and the vice president of All Nations for Christ Bible Institute International, among other jobs.

Biography

Idahosa officially started the Church of God Mission International in October 1968. Before that, it was just a “small prayer group” that he led. Idahosa said that he had brought eight people back from the dead, but this claim was dropped when the Advertising Standards Authority asked for proof that the people in question had been dead.Pa Elton and James Gordon Lindsey put him in charge of the church in 1971.He was made a Bishop in 1981, and in 1989, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide was also made a Bishop by him.

He died on March 12, 1998. His wife, Archbishop Margaret Idahosa, and their four children lived on after he died.[8] After that, his wife became the Archbishop of the Christian organization he started, the Church of God Mission International (CGMI). She is also the Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University.
