Dr DK Oliukoya- Founder Of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry

Professor Daniel Kolawole Olukoya was born in Nigeria in Akure, Ondo State, to a police officer father and a trader mother. He went to St. John’s CAC Primary School in Akure, where he was known as a very smart child who always got the best grades. Later, when his family moved to Lagos, he went to St. Jude’s Primary school in Ebute metta. He did very well there and finished with good grades.

Then, Professor D.K. Olukoya went to Methodist Boys’ High School (MBHS), which opened in 1878 on Broad Street in Lagos. This is also where he became a new person. At MBHS, he also had an Indian teacher who told the class, “Boys, if you want to get out of poverty, READ YOUR BOOKS!” DKO stuck to this advice and studied every day from 9pm to 3am. When DKO graduated from MBHS, he was the best student in his class.

Professor Daniel Olukoya started studying microbiology at the University of Lagos (Unilag) in 1976. In 1980, he got a degree in Microbiology with a first-class grade from Unilag. He was the first person to get an A in the course at the university, and as of February 2010, his GPA is still the best ever recorded in that course.
Soon after he graduated, he got a scholarship to get a PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. Even though the school was hard by nature, DKO got his PhD in 3 years and went back to Nigeria.

When DKO went back to Nigeria, he worked at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in Yaba. There, he became known as an excellent African geneticist. DKO became a leader in the field of genetics by releasing over 70 scientific papers in a short amount of time, which is an amazing feat by any measure. He also taught Genetics and was an outside reviewer at several colleges. He has also given papers at scientific conferences on almost all of the world’s continents. Even now, DKO is still making contributions to genetics and biotechnology through the Daniel & Fola Biotechnology Foundation. This is a registered non-profit organization that was set up to give Nigerian people modern laboratory skills in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

In addition to being a police officer, Prof. Olukoya’s father was also a preacher at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). So, he was raised in a Christian home and believes like a Christian. DKO was dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ the whole time he was in school. During his doctorate in the United Kingdom, his love for Jesus and spiritual fire grew by leaps and bounds. Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, the head of the Christ Apostolic Church, has had a big impact on Prof. Olukoya’s work. Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya wrote with respect on the dedication pages of the Prayer Rain and Prayer Passport books that Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola was a worker of God who knew the power of prayer. In the 1930s, God used him in a powerful way to start the first Christian awakening in Nigeria. Apostle Babalola and his group of aggressive prayer warriors went into forbidden woods, shut down demons that wanted to be worshiped, and stopped deep-rooted activities that were against the gospel.

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles church is run by Dr. Olukoya. In the early 1990s, the church started in a hired hall on Old Yaba Road in Ebute-Meta, Lagos. Since then, it has grown into a large organization with branches all over Nigeria and in other countries. It has assets worth billions of dollars. The church owns a university called Mountain Top University and a football club called MFM FC. The chairman of MFM FC, a sports writer named Godwin Enakhena, has always said that the club was set up to give talented young football players something to do.

Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya’s life story

Dr. Olukoya plays music and writes songs. People say that he wrote his famous song “Oke Nla Sidi,” which means “O mountain, be moved,” after waiting for many years for his son, Elijah Toluwani Olukoya. Pastor Dr. Shade Olukoya, who is also his wife, said that when Dr. Olukoya heard that his son had been born, he started singing right away. She said that he sang the whole way to their house and was so happy that he got lost, went to another apartment, and tried his keys in the lock. At the time, they had been married for more than 16 years and waited on the Lord. They had every reason to be happy.

Professor Olukoya is very happy with his wife, Pastor (Dr.) Elizabeth Folasade Olukoya, who was his first love. They got married on November 11, 1989, and their son, Elijah Toluwani Olukoya, is a blessing.
