Chris Oyakhilome- Founder Of Christ Embassy

Pastor Chris, whose real name is Christian Oyakhilome and who was born on December 7, 1963, is a Christian faith leader, preacher, author, philanthropist, televangelist, and the head of Loveworld Incorporated. He is known all over the world as the preacher who started the Mega Church Christ Embassy and as the author of Rhapsody of Realities, the daily devotional that has been translated and shared the most. He is also known for putting on big crusades that draw more than 3.5 million people in one night. His healing school, which meets in Nigeria and South Africa at different times every year, draws thousands of sick people from over 70 countries who want to be healed by God.

Educational Background

Pastor Chris was born on December 7, 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, to Tim and Angelina Oyakhilome. He is the third of seven kids and the first of two boys. He has five sisters, and all of them are involved with Loveworld and Christ Embassy. They are Beayeta Akhuemokhan, Mercy Oyakhilome, Kenneth Oyakhilome, Linda Okocha, Kathy Woghiren, and Lovelina Osazuwa, all of whom were born Oyakhilome.

He went to Edo College and, with the help of a grant, got into Bendel State University, which was later renamed Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma. There, he studied architecture and got his first degree.

Theology and Doctrine

While he was a student at Ambrose Alli University, Chris Oyakhilome’s mission began to take shape. As a student, he started a group called Youth for Christ, which grew to be the biggest fellowship at Bendel State University. Chris Oyakhilome told a story about how the Vice Chancellor at the time came to one of his services on Campus. Later, he changed the name of the group to Believers Loveworld, which quickly spread to other universities in Nigeria and became known by the term BLW.

After he graduated in 1987, he started a church in Benin-City. In 1989, he moved to Lagos and fully set up Christ Embassy there.

There are now BLW Campus Fellowships and Christ Embassy Churches on college campuses and in big cities all over the world.

His church holds crusades in the UK, the US, Ghana, and South Africa, and “healing school” sessions in South Africa, Lagos, and Canada. He was also the first person to start a Christian-based television network that reached beyond Africa. In 2006, he held “Good Friday Miracle Night,” which was attended by 3.5 million people and was the biggest event ever held in Nigeria in one night. Oyakhilome also holds Higher Life conferences in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, the UK, the US, and Canada. He also planned the Night of Bliss South Africa event at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Oyakhilome also runs the International School of Ministry[15]. One of its Ministers’ Network Conferences was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2016, with 5,000 ministers from 145 countries in attendance.

He is in charge of an online prayer network that sends words to Christians in several countries through social media. In 2013, he had more than 1.2 million people following him on Twitter and more than 1.9 million people following him on Facebook. He also runs a mobile messaging app called KingsChat. In 2015, Ambrose Alli University and Benson Idahosa University both gave Oyakhilome an honors doctorate. In 2017, LoveWorld USA, a Christian cable station, was made by Oyakhilome and Benny Hinn.

Oyakhilome has held a number of online programs, such as the Global Day of Prayer with Pastor Benny, which has been done five times. The first time was on March 27, 2020, and people from many countries around the world were there.

Personal Life

Chris Oyakhilome tied the knot with Anita Ebhodaghe on February 2, 1991. They met when they were both in college. Anita was also a Pastor at Christ Embassy, and everyone called her “Pastor Anita.” Two girls, Sharon and Charlene, were born to the couple.

The divorce papers were filed on April 9, 2014. The divorce was finalized on February 8, 2016, according to a statement from her lawyers, Attwaters Jameson Hill. The statement said, “Anita Oyakhilome would like to confirm that she is no longer involved with or a part of Christ Embassy AKA Believers Loveworld Inc.”

Pastor Chris’s first daughter, Sharon, got married to Phillip Frimpong, a Ghanaian, on October 6, 2018. The service was led by Pastor Benny Hinn, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo was in charge of the event.[

Forbes thought that Oyakhilome was worth between $30 million and $50 million in 2011.

Philanthropic work

Oyakhilome runs the Inner City Mission Project, which helps orphaned and poor children in the inner towns of a number of different countries. The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International, which tries to help the poor and people in the cities, is in charge of the group. When tragedies strike, the organization sends aid to countries and works with government agencies to improve social well-being.

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation is one of the main backers of the inner city orphanage homes in Africa that are run by pushaboo, an organization that is at the forefront of caring for mothers and kids around the world.

Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) also gives money to the Bible for All Mission, the Volunteer Medical Corps, the Trauma Care International Foundation, the Inner City Mission for Children, the Future Africa Leaders Foundation, and the Inner City Mission for Children.

Controversies

The Treatment Action Campaign has also criticized Oyakhilome for his support of faith healing as a supposed cure for HIV/AIDS. His religious book, Rhapsody of Realities, says that rebuking tumors will make them go away.

Oyakhilome has been accused of preaching the prosperity gospel and using his following to get money. He has said that people who give money to his ministry will be rewarded with wealth and good health.

Oyakhilome also backs “New World Order” conspiracy ideas that are popular on YouTube.

In March 2021, his TV network, Loveworld, was fined £125,000 by the British government agency Ofcom for breaking rules about broadcasting by showing “false and potentially harmful claims about coronavirus.”
