David Olatunji Abioye is the First Vice President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide and a Christian author and preacher from Nigeria. He is a bishop and the Senior Pastor of the Abuja church Living Faith Church, Goshen City, where more than 30,000 people go to pray.

Personal Life

Abioye was born in Kwara State in 1961. He is married to Mary Abioye, and they have three children: David Jr., Ruth, and Daniel. He went to the University of Ilorin to study Mechanical Engineering. From 1985 to 1985, he taught at the Open Cast Polytechnic in Auchi.

Ministerial Journey

Even though he was still teaching at the Polytechnic, he wanted to start a technology company to make sure he had enough money. But when he met David Oyedepo, who would later start Living Faith Church Worldwide, at a Christian Student Fellowship in the 1980s, he was moved by his love and fire for God. Over time, their connection changes from that of brothers to that of a spiritual guide After Oyedepo moved to Lagos, Abioye took over as the senior leader of the Garden of Faith in Kaduna, which used to be the church’s national headquarters. In 1993, the church made him a bishop.

In January 2014, the president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, went to Abioye and attended a meeting at the Abuja church.[12] Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, held a thanksgiving service in his church in June 2015, not long after the election.
