Tara Fela-Durotoye- Beauty Business Owner Of House Of Tara

Tara Fela-Durotoye is a lawyer and beauty business owner from Nigeria. She was born on March 6, 1977. She was a leader in the field of bridal makeup in Nigeria. In 1999, she put out the first bridal directory, set up makeup studios that met foreign standards, and opened the country’s first makeup school.

She made the Tara Orekelewa Beauty range, Inspired Perfume, and the H.I.P Beauty line. She is also the founder and CEO of House of Tara International.

As of 2019, her company, House of Tara, had 270 products, 23 stores, 14 beauty schools, and 10,000 representatives all over Africa.

In 2007, South Africa gave Tara Fela-Durotoye the Africa SMME Award and the Entrepreneur Award. In 2013, Forbes named her one of 20 Young Power Women in Africa. In 2020, she was named one of “Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women” by the magazine Forbes.

She graduated from the Lagos Business School Chief Executive Programme, INSEAD Abu Dhabi, Yale University, The Stanford SEED Transformation Programme, and the Harvard Kennedy School, where she took the Global Leadership and Public Policy in the 21st century course. She is a member of the France/Nigeria Investment club, which was founded in 2018 by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Early years

Tara Fela-Durotoye was born at the St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. Her parents, John Ejegi Sagay, a commissioner in the Nigerian Federal Civil Service, and Felicia Omaghomi, were there to welcome her. When she was eight months old, her parents split up. Since they had more than one wife, her stepmother, Modupe Agnes Sagay, took care of her. She first went to Command Children School in Victoria Island, and then she went to Nigeria Navy Secondary School in Ojo, where she lived in a dorm. In form 5, she was put in charge of health and welfare. She got a law degree from Lagos State University, and then she started the House of Tara International.

Personal Life

Tara is married to Fela Durotoye, who is the CEO of Visible Impact and a business strategist and company activator. On February 22, 2018, he told his political group, Alliance for New Nigeria, that he wanted to run for president. Mobolurin, Demilade, and Morolaoluwa are the names of their three boys.
