Under the hood of the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum is a brand-new Hybrid MAX powertrain with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor on the rear end. This makes it go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, which is almost two seconds faster than the 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system in the XLE and Limited. The engine in the Platinum also has 340 net total horsepower. It has 44% more horsepower than the XLE and the Limited. But the Hybrid MAX gives up fuel economy for power. All together, the Platinum gets 30 MPG. Together, the XLE and the Limited get 41 MPG.

When you look at the Crown Platinum’s many unique safety, comfort, and technology features, it really stands out. An adaptive suspension makes sure the ride is smooth by letting the driver choose how the car moves based on the road conditions. There are five drive modes to choose from (the XLE and Limited only have three), and thumb shifters let drivers change gears without having to move their hands. The Platinum also comes with a 360-degree camera and an advanced parking system that lets the car use sensors to park itself in parallel and perpendicular parking spots. Platinum buyers can add a stylish black tone to any of the four main colors: Oxygen White, Heavy Metal, Supersonic Red, or Bronze Age. This comes at an extra cost. On the XLE and Limited, you can’t get this.
